A Courthouse Wedding

January 21, 2010

Fellow Boston wedding blogger Abby of Peaches by Plums recently posted photos of her super sweet courthouse wedding.  She and her husband tied the knot in Pennsylvania and will have a larger celebration in Ireland later this year.  I love small weddings, and I love love love courthouse weddings.

These are a few of my favorite pictures — check out the rest here.  Abby uses Poladroid to give her images this neat effect.

Up and Away!

Ah!  So clever and cute – I can hardly stand it!  I discovered Beverly and Neil’s fantastic engagement photos via Mint.  Everything about their stylish, budget-minded wedding is amazing.  Check it out!

Bicycle Built for Two

May 23, 2009

Our wedding budget absolutely does not allow for videography, which on first thought did not bother me.  But then I discovered this:

Jesse and Deanna’s Wedding

Jesse and Deanna are some of my wedding idols.  Even though they are no longer updating their blog, it is still worth a visit (or many).

And as for their wedding video, I think I love it so much because it’s short and sweet – no awkward interviews or long  speeches – and really seems to capture the essence of their day.    If we were to hand the video camera over to a few trusted friends for our ceremony and reception, I wonder if we’d be able to edit our way down to something with a similar feel.

First Pangs of Wedding Envy

May 21, 2009

We were engaged on March 22, 2009.  The event was followed by 48 hours of gushing phone calls and earnest disclaimers that we would not begin wedding planning any time soon.  This calm, rational attitude did not last long.  I quickly entered a month-long gorge of wedding blogs during which I averaged four hours of sleep per night, forgot to acknowledge my best friend’s birthday, and experienced my first pangs of wedding envy, as seen here:

This couple was married at Salvage One in Chicago.  Their pictures sent me into a frenzy as I desperately tried to find an equally chic and wedding-friendly salvage shop in Boston.  I was not successful.  There is no such thing — that I know of.  Do you?

These inspiring photos were taken by Artisan Events and originally posted on Style Me Pretty.  No fuss, but so much personality.
